Board Meeting Minutes
May 10, 2018

Present: Hough, Wegscheid, Kamnick, Denton, Arnold, Crawford, Koberlein, Director Karnes
Guests: JoAn Evans, Wayne Moran

The Board Meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m. by President Koberlein. Minutes of the 4/12/18 meeting were read and approved. Treasurer and librarian’s reports were presented (see attached). Motion by Crawford, seconded by Arnold to approve
and pay the bills. Motion carried.

The Library received the Per Capita Grant from 2017 in the amount of $4,789.08.

JoAn Evans reported that 11 people attended the book signing at the Beecher City Branch Library. Nine people attended the Book Club. A student from the High School Community Service worked at the library changing light bulbs and hanging pictures
and bulletin boards. Cathy Arnold and Director Karnes did a lot of yard work. JoAn wants to get the bathroom floor repainted.

Wayne Moran spent a lot of time on the phone with Frontier and got the libraries released from their contracts.

The property at Beecher City Branch Library was surveyed. The board is waiting to hear from attorney Richard Day about leasing instead of selling the property to a restaurant owner for parking. The cost of the survey was $2000.00.
Motion by Kamnick, seconded by Hough to hire Integrity Electric and Plumbing to replace lights at the St. Elmo Library. Motion carried. The bid for this was $1549.12.

Director Karnes and JoAn Evans are getting donations for the summer reading program.

Motion by Arnold, seconded by Crawford, to adopt Ordinance 2018-1 to set 2018-2019 meeting dates.

Motion by Crawford, seconded by Wegscheid, to adopt Ordinance 2018-2 for paying Prevailing Wages.

The Public Hearing date for the Budget 2018-2019 is July 12 at 7:00 p.m.

President Koberlein said the non-resident fee would still be calculated by the tax bill.

When Wayne Moran updated the computers to Windows 10 he found that three of the Dell computers and three of the HP’s are bad.

JoAn is having shoulder surgery in June.

Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Wegscheid, seconded by Crawford.
Motion carried.
